The smoothfaced mountain mouth of god who is a shepherd-boy and dawdling. His face is white a nonface so smooth and sweet he mumbles me letters away instantly exorbitant. the tree grows up me / a power tree / out of my head / leaves ere move me lengthwise thru the armholes, airholes into the color white of the sky today, round and white. I can take it up in one motion and swing thru the sidewalk and be as I was unfastened in pink. I was one piece, a funnel, I loved with my tongue inside my mouth the edges of the path grassy and bitter. He touches my arms at intervals good, good. This music tender crush of the river ever river I paddle down the sides GOD of flares GOD of green—a shock of calm around my head I motion thru the words pull them toward my feet. where. he touches my fingers he touches the muscles in my back I go God you're young and blond, dark and inscrutable
